Shipboard Helicopter Technicians (Multiple Slots)

OVERVIEW:

Technician:  JTAC is looking for two Helicopter Technician Positions.

Location: International shipboard operations.

Reporting Date:  Two positions reporting no later than February 6, 2020.

Work Schedule:  Normal work days are continuous for approximately a four-weeks on four-weeks off schedule, except as adjusted by the cruise ship schedule. 

Supervision:  The Technicians will be aboard the ship to conduct un-scheduled on-demand aircraft maintenance functions.

Operations are based onboard a large commercial expedition style cruise ship that operates throughout the world. Responsibilities include not only normal technician duties, but also assist in other duties as assigned. This position requires extensive international travel, the ability to work and sometimes live in close proximity to other crew members, and a positive attitude toward non-technical as well as technical duties. Successful individuals will possess strong leadership qualities, be comfortable operating remotely, respond professionally and calmly in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, and have a courteous manner at all times when managing the expectations of VIP clients and working with colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have knowledge of aviation practices sufficient to plan well in advance and safely conduct maintenance operations.

Required:

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability 

  • Minimum 3 years helicopter maintenance experience

  • Hold a valid EASA Part-66 AML

  • Experience with Airbus AS350 B3/H135/H145

  • Strong regulatory knowledge

Preferred:

  • Strong Airbus H135 experience or similar

  • Previous experience in a VVIP helicopter environment

  • An offshore helicopter background

  • Available to begin at short notice

  • Boat/Offshore Experience desirable

  • STCW and HUET Training

  • ENG1 Medical

  • Seamans discharge book

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 4 plus years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language / Communication Skills: 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively (reading, writing and speaking) in the English language. 

Required computer skills:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Able to learn and use applications specific to aviation operations

Special remarks regarding work environment

  • Travel estimated to be 50%

  • Actively applying for, or in current possession of, a valid Passport

  • Must be accessible by cell phone/radio 24/7 except while off per rotation

  • Work hours can extend past normal office hours

  • Extensive International travel required

  • Must be able to travel for up to one month +or-.
